JOB DESCRIPTION

 

Job Title: Database Architect

Location: Southlake, Texas

Duration: 12 month

 

Description:

Database Architect needed to support a staff aug opportunity with the Sabre client. Although contracted through DXC, candidate will be working directly with the client.

Candidate must be willing to convert to DXC employee after 3 months. Principal role will include

• Architect the engineering solution

• Work closely with Architecture and Operation group Leaders

• Software scripting and automation

• Technical Lead comfortable working with DB Engineers and DBAs, overseeing Agile tasks and determining/addressing gaps in current architecture

1. Scripting knowledge(Ansible, Shell, Python) and hands on Database products

2. Hands on experience on Oracle, Couchbase, AWS

 

Detailed Scope of work

• Review current solutions and provide guidance as required for the assigned projects

• Identify best practice and standards for team to follow

• Attend agile calls daily

• Identify migration strategies and solutions as required

• Decomposition of solutions into Agile stories and timelines

• Ensure stability and High availability as required for all projects and solutions

 

Must have: - SME on Oracle and Couchbase/document databases. Expert level knowledge of replication and High availability technologies

knowledge of Git, knowledge of Linux Operating system, familiar with some of the following automation techniques Shell / Python / Ansible / CloudFormation / Terraform. Knowledge of Cloud Concepts and working knowledge on a cloud platform. Architecture design skills / ability to design end to end database solutions

Minimum Years of experience:

- 2 years architecture

- 6 Years in Database architecture or engineering

- 2 years of hands on database operations

 

Nice to have: - knowledge of MySQL/SQLServer/RDS/Cyberark, IDM

 

• Track and manage complete Request management life cycle using ITSM tools (SNOW/Rally)

• Create documentation and update knowledge repository for solutions, standards, training

• Support and guidance on incidents that affect the assigned projects

• Work with leaders and organizations (system owners, appdbas, etc.) across Sabre as necessary to review proposed solutions and recommendations

• Capacity planning as required for migration strategies

• Ensure strategies and solutions provide required performance SLA’s

• Position includes working with/understanding current architecture as well as developing new solutions

• Must have understanding of new technologies; Oracle 19c. Need to understand the technology that they are solutioning. Oracle most critical skill.
