Job Description:
Monitors production plan and issues Purchase Orders to meet firm planned
demands. Balances order due dates in coordination with operations to assure product availability within prescribed
inventory objectives. Communicates quantity and due date to suppliers. Performs all purchasing and related activities.
Duties and Responsibilities:
1. Schedule manufacturing activity for assigned Finished Products (FERT) and Intermediate Components (HALB) to support production plan and balances work center
loading.
2. Issues Purchase Orders and expedited deliveries for Raw Materials (ROH).
3. Generates production requirements for assigned FERTS and HALBS thru firm planned orders and production orders to meet the production plan.
4. Reviews lot sizes, Client, safety stock levels and replenishment lead times for compliance with inventory policy, dating
restrictions and planned demand. Makes adjustments as required after review.
5. Monitors status of production orders, firmed planned orders, and planned orders to assure inventory and customer
service objectives are met and initiates corrective procedures when problems are recognized.
6. Maintains dialogue with BDDS Demand Planning, Marketing and Customer Service regarding order status, plans, and
general information regarding assigned products.
7. Schedules and purchases inventoried materials from suppliers to meet requirements of the production plan.
8. Monitors inventories to stay within defined inventory policies.
9. Coordinates corporate scrap control and reduction programs by assisting in recognizing, defining, and prioritizing
opportunities for scrap reduction and elimination.
10. Writes and approves DI’s to accomplish all functional responsibilities.
11. Will be asked to support other roles within the supply chain function as a back up.
Physical Requirements: (related to working conditions);
1. Must be able to type on computer keyboard for extended period of time without fatigue.
2. Must be able to endure prolonged setting.
3. Must be able to lift a minimum of 10 lbs.
Qualifications - External
1. SAP experience is required for this role
2. Minimum of three years experience in an ISO or GMP regulated industry
3. CPIM and/or NAPM certification desirable
4. Must possess good basic mathematical skills, i.e., addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, percentage, fractions.
5. Must possess good abstract problem solving abilities.
6. Strong analytical skills
