Genesis10 is currently seeking a Front End Developer for a contract position lasting through 08/31/2020, working with a major insurance client in the Milwaukee, WI or New York, NY area.
Description:
Seeking an experienced front end engineer with recent React development experience. The role includes modernizing older React code (developed in 2016) as well as developing new applications for the client’s retail investment area. There is urgency with filling this position as quickly as possible due to 1) work that's required for an upcoming regulation and 2) the need to move a legacy application from a platform that will be obsolete at the end of May.
Qualifications:
- Minimum 3 years front end engineering experience
- Unit testing, React hooks, routes, Redux and integration with backend microservices.
- Creative self-starter, having the skills to analyze business needs and create sustainable, secure, scalable solutions.
- Keeps current with software engineering trends, best practices and standards.
- Good communications skills and a willingness to collaborate and mentor in an agile team environment are expected.
- Currently doing React development with at least 1 year of React experience
- Knowledge of newer React features including hooks
- JavaScript, HTML5 and CSS experience
- Ability to write clean, unit testable React code with testing tool experience (Jest, Enzyme, etc.)
- Experience with React routes and invoking backend microservices
- Knowledge of Redux
Nice to Haves:
- Node JS
- GitHub and/or GitLab
- CI/CD
- Familiarity with Docker and containerization
- Familiarity with cloud providers, ideally AWS
- Experience in the financial sector is a plus
