Lead Embedded Software Engineer – Camden, NJ (#16550)
Major purpose:
The Lead Embedded Software Engineer will be responsible for leading teams of embedded software developers in all phases of the software development life cycle. Responsibilities will include developing and tracking software development schedule, assigning tasking, managing cost accounts, interfacing and coordinating with other development disciplines, project engineering and program management. Additionally, the lead software engineer will oversee reviews, prepare and present technical briefings, report status, and participate in design and development activities.
Education/Experience/Licenses etc.:
The candidate(s) will possess: Bachelor's or master’s degree in Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or related field and 5 years minimum applicable experience required. US Citizenship. Experience leading a software development effort. Ability to work both independently and as part of a team, possess excellent verbal and written communication skills, possess strong analytical and problem-solving skills, and exhibit effective time management and task ownership on their assignments. Proficiency with one or more programming languages, including Java, C/C++, Python. Ability to develop and maintain project software schedule, including budget tracking. Strong understanding of modern software development methodologies and the software development lifecycle. Strong background in embedded software development. Knowledge of Object-Oriented Development methodologies and approaches. Good understanding of software development/test tools and software test methodologies. Experience in technical writing skills by generating technical documents in support of a software development project. Experience developing software using processes compliant with CMMI Level 3 or above. Possessing the following attributes would be considered beneficial: Experience with Data Distribution Service (DDS) architecture and/or implementation. Java / HTML / JS and web application development highly desired. Java Frameworks Spring/SpringBoot, Angular, React. Experience with network stacks and network architectures. Knowledge and use of Embedded Linux Operating System and Eclipse based development environments. Knowledge of Board Support Packages and Device Driver concepts and implementation. Major purpose:
Reporting to the Manager - Software Engineering, the Senior Software Engineer or Software Engineer, will be responsible for participating in all phases of the software development life cycle. Working hand in hand with experienced subject matter experts, the candidate will be responsible for design and development of software to include requirements analysis, data modeling using Embedded Object Oriented Development methodologies, software architecture design, software detailed design, software code and unit test, and software integration and test activities on embedded real-time communications products. You will play a key role in developing innovative software components to support L3Harris C5S, C5 and Cyber Solution Centers.
Education/Experience/Licenses etc.:
