Job Description:
- In your role, you will be a member of a team responsible for developing and maintaining a highly complex, high volume middleware services application handling 10's of millions of transactions daily. Our application processes and manages customer deposits, withdrawals, transfers, payments, and many other transactions from different lines of business in the bank, e.g. ATM's, Point of Sale (POS), branches, Online banking, and more. In this role, you will be developing web services for major clients within the bank including ATM, POS (Point Of Sale), branches, and online banking. The application is a J2EE application running on a virtual Linux platform utilizing IBM WebSphere, Message Queuing, and DB2. We utilize WFXML, HTTPS, JDBC (DB2), JMS, and CWS (CICS Web Services). The services you will be developing will interface with various Systems of Record (SOR's). Development emphasizes a test driven methodology, up-front analysis/design, and OOD (Object Oriented Design/Development).
- You will act as a lead in providing application design guidance and consultation, utilizing a thorough understanding of applicable technology, tools and existing designs. Analyze highly complex business requirements, design and write technical specifications to design or redesign complex computer platforms and applications. Provides coding direction to less experienced staff or develops highly complex original code. Act as an expert technical resource for modeling, simulation and analysis efforts. Verify program logic by overseeing the preparation of test data, testing and debugging of programs.
- Oversee overall systems testing and the migration of platforms and applications to production. Develop new documentation, departmental technical procedures and user guides. Lead projects, allocate and manage resources and manage the work of less experienced staff. Assure quality, security and compliance requirements are met for supported area and oversee creation of or updates to and testing of the business continuation (BCP) plan.
Desired qualifications
- 5+ years of J2EE experience
- 5+ years of RESTful or SOAP web services
- 5+ years of Object Oriented experience
- 5+ years of WebSphere experience
- 5+ years of Linux experience
- Knowledge and understanding of source code version control systems, configuration management techniques and procedures
- Strong collaboration and partnering skills
- Experience operating effectively in a geographically dispersed organization
- Strong, clear and concise written and oral communication skills
